Within the same issue of The Gay Times, the following story is relayed. Is Rick the person in question?
"In Colorado Springs, another gay was found "not guilty" by a jury on a "disturbing the peace" charge. At the trial, witnesses testified of physical violence brought against the defendant by certain police officers on the scene to investigate an alleged fight in a public parking lot behind a local gay bar. One of the officers (the partner of a "Dynamic Duo" team referred to in the defense attorney's closing remarks to the jury prior to deliberation) admitted that such physical violence only took place upon provocation by the defendant. In what one o.f the defense witnesses termed "a situation under martial law," another gay was hauled off to the police station, questioned, and released (though the . prosecution witnesses failed to recall this incident). Once at the station, the defendant's sexual-orientation became the primary issue, even though the official charge was one of "disturbing the peace." No appeal on this case was filed by the City Attorney's office."
