Renee Nicole Good

Renee Nicole Good was born in Colorado Springs and went to Coronado High School. She was a beloved mother, wife, and award-winning poet. Her poem "On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs" won the 2020 Academy of American Poets Prize, and makes reference to Colorado Springs.[1] The poem went viral across social media following her passing.

Renee was living in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her partner and son when she was shot and killed by an ICE agent.[2] The agent claimed that they shot her in self-defense, though this is highly debatable given the video evidence.
