The Southern Colorado IntraRegional Transgendered Society was started in 1996 by LisaJo Laptad and Christina Danielle, with a Pueblo chapter led by Shirley Knight. SCIRT facilitated support groups for transgender people in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.[1:1] The group later became Peak Area Gender Expressions (PAGE) sometime between May 2003 and Februrary 2004.
