Opened in 1957. It was the address of the El Paso County Health Department starting in the 1970's. In the 1980's, it is frequently advertised and referenced in issues of Gayspeak as a confidential and safe place that LGBTQ+ people could go for STI testing. Interestingly, it is not named as the El Paso County Health Department building, just 501 N Foote, across all of its advertisements in the local gay publications. [2]

Starting July 15, 1985, the clinic started to offer testing for HIV/AIDS, alongside 7 other clinics across the state. [3]
